Gala Day & Pageant

Leith Festival Gala Day takes place every year on the second Saturday of June on Leith Links. Gala Day is always packed with all sorts of fun events.

The day kicks off nice and early with lots to do and see. From  children’s activities in our new ‘Kids Zone’, to the many market styled stalls and not forgetting Taylor’s Fun Fair. This year we will also have a live sound stage. Among those appearing are………..

The 2016 Gala day is on Saturday 11th June where all the fun and festivities commencing at 10.30am and ends at 4.30pm. As always, the Gala Day festivities will be joined at approximately 12.45pm/1pm by all the folk who have taken part in the traditional Gala Day Pageant which features groups from our Local Community, making the Links a bright, colourful and not forgetting noisy big day out. And if the skies shine brightly, it promises to be a day, whether you’re young or young at heart, where fun will be had by all


The Pageant

Are any of you involved with a group or an organisation that would like to take part in this year’s Gala Day Pageant? Then get them involved. It’s fun, it’s noisy, it’s colourful and it’s always a great way to meet people from other groups based in Leith. Oh and, fancy dress is always welcome.

So, if you would like to take part? Then all you have to do is register your organisation for the Pageant by emailing or by downloading the Pageant form from the following link: LF Parade Form 2016 Or how about this, would you like to be involved in the Pageant but aren’t involved in a group? Well, have you considered being a steward? You get to wear your very own…..Hi-Vis vest….such glam!!!!!
